Here ya go, I finished it a day early. The "I don't have sex" quotation should be "Everything sucks". I didn't realize this mistake til the publishing of the video was done. Enjoy!
Dryer than the news that's going on in KoL, it's "waiting for something new already" with me xSmootx.
Either we're really ginormous or we're in some kind of invisible forcefield.
That can be possibly be the setup for next week's show. Of course the official recap of this past Monday will be here on around Thursdayish but in case you did miss it, the show did end out in what was a minor jab at me and possibly jokingly saying how I should be on the radio show next week because I know more about KoL than Skully himself. From that alone, I'd personally would be totally cool missing Monday Night RAW to be on the radio show with them next week. However, what are other people and listeners of the show think? Well I was browsing the transcript thread a little while ago. Things going fine until I ran across this from tekdragon:
For starters I don't think I'm that average. I mean who else can you think of has been with the game for 3 years had to put up with all the crap, guff, and bologna because my opinions vary from the consensus of people where later I was barred off from the consensus cess pool of e-penis, better known to you as the forums, to where I had to start my own blog just get my voice out there and is still playing the game to this day. Can you think of anyone else who's gone through that? Didn't think so. Second, yeah it's true that there's probably a bunch of other people who memorize the biblical transcription of game mechanics of KoL down to the nearest decimal. Hell, your clan a couple others that come to mind could do that easily but let's be honest, who would want to listen to a show like that? I mean I know there's some people that would enjoy how the word diamond uttered from a speed ascender would get them off but c'mon, there's more to the game than just "Fap fap, game mechanics".
I'm sorry, I thought the whole concept of a Q and A program was to at least ask questions about KoL. I thought the whole purpose of asking a question (Good, bad, or otherwise) was to get a reaction (in this case, a verbal response) of some kind. Y'know it's ironically funny how I try to stay on topic with questions towards the game and yet I get bitched out for it, back when I was on the forums, I got bitched out and eventually banned from them for being even remotely close to off topic. Anyway, I know you guys put a lot effort into the llama, hobopolis, and the bad moon unlock but aside from flash in the pan familiars, overelaborate meatsinks with mediocre and unknown ETA on future content, and unlocks to something that should've been in place from the start when NS13 debut updates aside....when are you going to have something for the main game? I honestly can't remember an update to where something that wasn't meaningless was added to the main game.
Here's the results from last Monday's poll:
Ah, I see a lot of you like to throw time away. No real surprise, not like there's anything else important to do in the game right now. There's still another poll down below that you can vote on. Let your voice be heard.
That's it for me today, I'm busy working and researching on another FlashBack sort of thing. If you would like more of the stuff that I've said in the past, check out the archives section for all the past stuff that I've said that I may or may not have forgotten about. I'll try to add it somewhere on the page here when I get the time. If you'll excuse me now, I have to practice my charisma in case I really do go on the show next Monday. . See ya.
This time around I focus on the Top 5 best Items of the Month (as of so far) that were released into the game. Perhaps this will change some people's mind about my ideas in Mr. Store items, then again, maybe not. Anyway feel free to send me feedback about how I left out familiars .
Jewel eyed wizard hat is probably one of the few items that's retained most of it's usefulness over the years in the game. From the opening start you can equip one of these things and can organize MP for whatever your needs. Plus it adds 5 more turns to your buffs which is handy seeing how NS13 fucked with MP costs for buffs. The reduced cost to skills makes it so that I cast things easier. No doubt that this is quite honestly one of, if not, the best hat you can equip from the get-go. Tag team it with a navel ring (which would fall in the #6 slot) and you're rockin and rollin with MP and damage.
The Vivala Mask brings a lot of nifty things to the table. For starters the muscle boost is always nice to have. An additional crit can always make things better. (Compliments well with the clockwork stuff or things that activate on crits). On top of that, it does extra stuff if you do crit on a monster. Though the best thing that shines out is the fact that it allows you to "Harold's bell" for 10 turns. And if that's not tasty enough, it provides extra stats at the end of battle. You have to be a complete buffoon to pass up an item like this. The only downside it has is the fact that it references to a crappy boring movie. If you can look past that, like I have, then you'll just simply adore this item.
The pumpkin bucket is just simply awesome. Admittedly it took some time for me to like, but seeing what other faimiliar equipment there is out there I'm glad to say that I own a pumpkin bucket. Unlike the box of fireworks which provides a bunch of unnecessary bells and whistles, the pumpkin bucket is straightforward and to the point. It's simple to use, gives you a chance to find more items with any familiar, and will do the right elemental damage for you. Oh it also gives plus weight to your familiar on top of that. It's versatility is what makes it 3rd here on the list.
A diamond in the rough for farmers came in July of 2007 when the Bottle Rocket Crossbow came in and became one of the most highly sought after pieces of farming equipment to this day. With it's modifiers to BOTH item and meat drops, it makes it the key piece to any farming gear. As an added incentive, it's 1 handed which means that you can put on two of these bad boys and it'll make you richer. The moxie boost it provides can also be a help as well in combat. Speaking of combat these things can allow you to fire off rockets at your opponent that either modifies its level or just smacks them in the face for damage. For farming or just for kicking ass, this item is your all around tool. It's only weakness, being a ranged weapon.
Summoning items are probably the most head turning items this game has ever seen. Whether it's a tome, a libram, or even the joke grimoire, a summoning skill can make anyone's character a little bit better. The best part is that you don't have to go through the trouble to perm them seeing how they're auto HC permed when used. The only real downside is how the librams have a shared cost thanks to the bookshelf. (Some other dumb restriction will be applied when the other tome comes out) For what you can get from a tome, a libram or even the joke grimoire, it's no surprise that summoning skills occupy collectively as the best Mr. Store items in KoL....so far.
Hope you enjoyed this edition of the Top 5. I have another idea for another one in mind but it's still in development. Until next time, have a great weekend everyone. See ya folks tomorrow-ish.
Heya, I'm kinda not in the mood to type stuff so I added a new poll at the bottom. And I'll be working on making a new top 5 this weekend. Hope you folks enjoy it. The old poll results will be revealed this Monday.
More depressing than not coming up with a tagline for your entry, it's I hope people are still reading this with me, xSmootx.
Not much in the KoL news goin' on. I figured I'd jump into some stuff happening in the now. If you're unaware of nerdgasms or don't speak geekery, GenCon is where a bunch of people circle up and get off on Dungeons and Dragons, Star Trek, and other various dumb shit. What's this got do to with KoL? Well it just so happens that KoL practices the fine language of dumb shit and apparently has some representative there joining in on the festivities. Anyway, apparently whenever there's a con around, KoL just has to leap into the opportunity of having a special item of some kind. This is where the new item, the Junior Adventurer's Kit, comes in. It's simple, you meet the person in Indianapolis (where GenCon's currently held) and talk to whoever is in charge for distributing redeem codes. Log on, and presto you got yourself a Junior Adventurer's Kit. You can also try to buy one seeing how they're tradeable for some strange reason. Rumor has it that they provide random consumables, I'll try to get one and see what exactly it provides if the info isn't added to the wiki soon.
A little while ago, there was a ruckus about a new familiar of some kind, the black cat. It was also recently announced that you can perma unlock Bad Moon. In order to permanetly unlock it you need the black cat and perform a 100% run with it and viola you can spend your time in a waste of game space all you want. Did I mention that the black cat is basically an Optimal Ascention Familiar. Yeah that's real awesome . What's even more awesome is how the main game hasn't seen any love or updates for a couple of months now. Oh wait there's the recent update lion oil, bird's rib and stunt nut stew being no longer quest items. Yeah, more main game updates plox.
That's it for me today. I was out doing stuff yesterday and hanging around talking with a friend of mine about how KoL prices have gone up in some aspects of the market. Then we went to Wal Mart to find an LED lightbulb and then to the putt-putt arcade where I got a few airheads and blow pops. If anyone's really all that interested in my vacation story, shoot me a kmail or pm in game and I'll tell ya about it. I'll be back tomorrow with another entry, a new poll, and some other crazy stuff as well. Until then, have a good night everybody.
